As
The Day Ends
I realize this is only the beginning
As the sun fades beyond the mountains
And
The stars fill the sky
I anticipate the ides of self- exploration
I hear your words
I
feel the sense of self-confidence in your statement
“Let’s
meet in our dreams”
As I lay in black satin and lace
I close my eyes and imagine what could be
Your lips kissing my neck ever so gently
As your lips part
I feel the heat of your breath
Your tongue emerges ever so slightly as though to lick your favorite ice cream from a cone
Your touch is that of a tingling sensation that sends shock waves inside and out
As I lay in peace beyond passion
To be here alone is not enough
I want you to share in this pleasure
As I lay you on your stomach
I gently touch your back with a gentle kiss
The smell of eucalyptus fills the air as the oil melts upon your skin
As I massage your neck and then the lower part of your back
You moan and groan
The hurt is so good
The time has come for us to soar
As I part like an eagles wings in flight
You enter for a ride from here to the moon
Our bodies flowing like the waves from the ocean to the shores
Seconds, then minutes, then many hours have passed
As we prepare for landing, I open my eyes to look into yours
I realize only then
I am alone
This is what could have been
